„At Coveris, we have aligned our entire strategy with a no waste vision because we are convinced that preventing waste of all kinds is the basis for a more sustainable future. As part of this journey, this year we have established a brand new division - ReCover - which offers unique recycling solutions for the packaging industry. The pioneering waste reuse process closes the loop by using highly effective decolourisation technology and mechanical recycling. In this way, high-quality raw materials from plastic packaging are reused to produce new packaging material.“

Sustainable and user-friendly
Visitors to Compamed can experience the benefits of Formpeel P at first hand. This recyclable, co-extruded film is ideal for thermoforming and offers excellent puncture resistance. Depending on the application, it is available in peelable polyethylene (PE) or polyolefin (PO). With a sustainable lidding film, the PA-free thermoforming films are an environmentally friendly solution and offer excellent protection for medical products. This solution is suitable for also for sterilisation with ethylene oxide (ETO) and for plasma and gamma irradiation. Together with Cleerpeel, a transparent bag based on O-PE/PE film, both solutions enable the sterile extraction of medical devices as well as optimum protection and user-friendliness using sustainable resources.
In addition to Formpeel P, visitors to the Coveris stand can also experience the properties of other proven solutions, such as the Three-edge sealed bag made of uncoated Tyvek 1073B from DuPont, sealed with the Flexopeel T pouch film from Coveris. The solution has been designed for all-round optimum protection, is characterised by good puncture resistance and the medical device packaged in it can be quickly identified thanks to the transparent film. Thanks to Coveris' R&D expertise, this solution can offer a shelf life of up to 10 years, depending on the individual product features.
Greater flexibility and easier sealing
For customers in the medical sector who manufacture products in large quantities with form-fill-seal devices, Coveris recommends a proven packaging solution with uncoated Tyvek 2FS or 1073B, sealed on a thermoformable mono-material carrier, the so-called Formpeel T film. One of the most important advantages of this PE material is, that it can be produced in sizes from 100 µm to 350 µm, while fulfilling various product requirements and replacing standard A-PET or even PET-G films.
Another advantage is Formpeel T's low shrink-back and good moulding properties. soft and fibre-free peel effect, Formpeel T ensures easy sealing and offers very good peelability compared to the Tyvek models. The solution not only meets the criteria for ETO sterilisation and gamma irradiation, but also achieves excellent recyclability (> 95 %). This means that both material combinations can be easily recycled and are a very sustainable solution compared to the standard packaging available on the market.
