More basic power and security onboard

Pilz is presenting the latest safe and economical solution for small machines from the PNOZmulti 2 family of small controllers.

In efficient and flexible automation projects, safe controllers must act as the heart of plant and machinery, managing a wide range of functions safely and securely as well as in a performance-orientated manner. The automation company Pilz is presenting the latest safe and economical solution for small machines from the PNOZmulti 2 family of small controllers.

With a width of just 22.5 millimetres, the extremely slim stand-alone base unit PNOZ m C0 has the structural characteristics of a safety relay, but is as powerful as a configurable safety controller. In addition, a security key manager on the new base unit ensures that the device data and configuration are encrypted. Access without the required password is not possible.

A plus in Security is necessary when the topic of access authorisation in the room: Intuitive operating systems that only allow authorised persons to access the application are a must for enclosed machines and complex systems with hazardous areas. Mushroom demonstrates how users are supported by digital maintenance protection. „Key in pocket“ protects the operator from unauthorised restarting of a machine during maintenance.

Safety and security must not stop at mobile applications; productivity in the material flow must be harmonised with safety in the best possible way. Visitors can experience on site how Safely automate and operate AGVs (automated guided vehicles), taking into account all spatial and infrastructural conditions let. The new safety solution package comprises safe area monitoring with the PSENscan safety laser scanner for collision protection of people and AGVs, the modular PNOZmulti 2 and myPNOZ evaluation units and the SecurityBridge industrial firewall, which now also provides tamper protection for mobile applications for the first time.
