Reprohaus Zincografia Empolese has expanded its product platform to include products from Asahi Photoproducts. This enables customers to further increase their sustainability and productivity in plate production and also shorten cycle times.
Asahi Photoproducts announced that Italian repro house Zincografia Empolese has added the AWP 4835 P plate processor and the Asahi AWP-DEW water-washable CleanPrint flexo plate to its production platform. Zincografia Empolese offers its customers, the Produce labels, flexible packaging and corrugated cardboard packaging, high-quality flexographic printing plates available.
„Before investing in the plate processor for the CleanPrint AWP-DEW flexo printing plate from Asahi, we had already been working with various other products. The switch was made for several reasons. These included the outstanding support from Asahi, the shorter processing times of the plates in prepress and the reduced downtime in our customers“ pressrooms, as the plate does not get dirty during the print job. We also value the sustainability of the manufacturing process for the Asahi AWP-DEW water-washable flexographic printing plate. This aspect is playing an increasingly important role for our customers."

The water-washable CleanPrint flexographic printing plate Asahi AWP is processed without solvents based on volatile organic compounds (VOC), consumes less energy in the production process and is produced more quickly than VOC-based solvent boards. The high print quality of this plate is made possible by the photopolymer chemistry used. The water washout technology also reduces the surface tension of the printing plate, which results in greater press efficiency. This improves the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in the pressroom and reduces waste.
