MULTIPOND has further optimised the transfer process between the weigher and the flow-wrapping machine. The proven system of the patented double swivelling duck (DSE) has been further developed for this purpose. Thanks to a 90-degree rotation, speeds can be increased by up to 25 per cent.
The multihead weighers from MULTIPOND thus break a magical barrier: with a nominal filling weight of 200 grams, they are now Up to 200 weighings per minute possible.
Double-swing duck
The prerequisite for this was created by the Realignment of the collection container with the beak-shaped outlet to which the transfer system owes its name. As the DSE is now positioned at a different angle to the scales, the collection container can move on immediately after product discharge so that the second chamber can be emptied more quickly. With the previous model, there is a minimal time delay at this point. The system had to wait until the product had completely fallen out of the container before continuing. The DSEQ (transverse) not only works more efficiently, but is also much quieter thanks to its lightweight design.
When designing the duck flaps, MULTIPOND now uses 3D laser-sintered titanium grid flaps for extremely sticky products. The use of grid flaps minimises the contact surface between the product and flaps, resulting in less product adhesion.
The Packaging of elongated products such as pretzel sticks or dowels is still associated with major challenges. Weighing them is one thing, placing the portions fully automatically and aligned in the packaging is another. MULTIPOND has developed a nNew transfer system with integrated robot technology.
