With a turnover of around 1.1 billion euros, the MULTIVAC Group was able to achieve a growth in turnover of 7.7 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year. The number of employees increased to 6,400 worldwide.

Investments in the global production network
In the future, too, the further Expansion of production capacities a high priority. At the company headquarters in Wolfertschwenden, for example, a new Competence centre for Slicer and automation solutions which will be completed in 2020. At approx. 17,000 square metres floor space will also be created there 180 state-of-the-art office workstations and flexible conference and event rooms. At the Bruckmühl site, administration and production for the MULTIVAC subsidiary TVI will be concentrated on around 9,000 square metres „on a greenfield site“.
There, a new Competence centre for Meat portioner which will also be put into operation in 2020. The highlight will be a new customer-orientated Application centre. In addition to this, MULTIVAC is planning to open the Manufacture of packaging machines and their peripheral components. In addition to production, the development and design departments will also be set up there. Production is scheduled to start at the end of 2019.
From machine manufacturer to solution provider
With the Acquisition of the FRITSCH Group, which took place in August 2019, MULTIVAC is rounding off its portfolio of solutions so that it can also offer the Bakery industry complete production lines from a single source. FRITSCH is Manufacturer of bakery machines headquartered in Markt Einersheim, Lower Franconia. The portfolio includes high-performance systems and pioneering innovations in the Dough moulding and Dough preparation - from table-top appliances to industrial systems.

Management change at MULTIVAC
After more than 18 years as Managing Director of the MULTIVAC Group On 1 January 2020, Hans-Joachim Boekstegers will hand over the business to his long-standing management colleagues Christian Traumann and Guido Spix and retire from the company. Hans-Joachim Boekstegers joined the MULTIVAC Group as Managing Director in April 2001, and since then he has been instrumental in driving forward the successful development of the company. In particular, he has been responsible for the consistent expansion of MULTIVAC's product portfolio and sales and service network.
