Multivac invests again at the Allgäu site

Multivac is investing 60 million euros in a new production plant for parts manufacturing and spare parts logistics in Wolfertschwenden. It will have a floor space of 35,000 square metres and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.

The Multivac Group is expanding its Wolfertschwenden site with a new production plant for parts manufacturing and spare parts logistics. The new plant with a floor space of 35,000 square metres will be built around 1000 metres from the Group's headquarters and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. The investment volume amounts to 60 million euros.

The new building in the immediate vicinity of our headquarters is a groundbreaking decision for Multivac and a renewed, clear commitment by our shareholders to the Allgäu location. Last but not least, the investment is also a basis for further growth - and it offers employees attractive and future-proof jobs,“ said Christian Traumann, CEO of the MULTIVAC Group. „Thanks to the latest production technologies and a high level of automation, the new factory will further expand our Significantly expand efficiency in the areas of parts production and spare parts logistics. Our customers throughout Europe as well as our global logistics centres will benefit from increased delivery readiness and speed.“

Dr Christian Lau, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the MULTIVAC Group, added: „We will relocate the production of components for our processing and packaging machines, which currently takes place in the main factory, to the new building complex. The space gained at the company headquarters will provide us with more space for our slicer and line business, in which we are experiencing steady growth. At the same time, we are utilising the new plant, which is scheduled to go into operation successively from 2026, also to further optimise the supply of spare parts. We will store thousands of spare parts for machines from the entire group of companies, i.e. Multivac, TVI and Fritsch. And we will be able to deliver spare parts ordered via a web shop on the same day.“

The new building complex with a floor area of 27,500 square metres comprises a production area of 18,000 square metres, a logistics area of 9,500 square metres and around 3,750 square metres for offices, canteen and social rooms on the first floor. In the interests of a sustainable infrastructure, the new production site also includes a number of Measures planned that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissionsGroundwater is utilised in the new plant by means of wells to cool the building, and the energy supply is provided by the company's own photovoltaic system in addition to bio district heating.

Display

Around 250 people will be employed at the new site - mainly existing staff, particularly in production. A new team will be set up in the logistics area with support from the main plant. In addition the Wolfertschwenden #2 production plant is designed for growth and up to 340 employees.

In addition to the new plant in Wolfertschwenden, the Multivac Group has 14 other production facilities in Germany, Austria, Spain, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Japan, India and the USA.
