Multivac Marking & Inspection: Inspection systems for greater food safety

In addition to needs-based conveyor belt labellers, Multivac Marking & Inspection GmbH & Co. KG will be focussing on optical inspection systems at interpack 2017. If these can be seamlessly integrated into the packaging lines, reliable quality control can be carried out automatically, even in the high output range.

The I 410 is a space-saving inspection solution on a separate conveyor belt, which is equipped with one high-resolution line scan camera and powerful image processing performs reliable quality and labelling checks from above and below. The areas of application range from checking the completeness of the pack to checking the presence and position of the label to checking the print, including pattern and text recognition, text checking, legibility and code checking.

Hygienic design

The I 410 has a hygienic design for use in the food industry. The model shown on site can be used, for example, as a Stand-alone solution downstream of a traysealer, whereby the packs can either be taken over by an upstream transport device or fed in manually. A motorised ejection device ejects the faulty packs. Operation is simple and safe via the Multivac HMI 2.0. In lines, control is centralised via the operating terminal of the packaging machine.

The BASELINE I 100 is an X-ray inspection system for detecting foreign objects in a particularly space-saving design. Defective products are ejected via the downstream I 210 checkweigher.
