At Achema 2018, MULTIVAC will be showing its comprehensive automation expertise for packing pharmaceutical products and medical devices. The focus will be on the packing and automatic infeed of sensitive products, packaging solutions for small batches, as well as solutions for labelling and identifying products in the packaging process.

The trade fair highlights include a Thermoforming packaging machine in GMP design with single-sided chain guide for the packaging of syringes. The machine is equipped with an automatic syringe feed system that can transport up to 300 pre-filled glass or plastic syringes per minute in a controlled and reliable process. The special feed system ensures that the sensitive products are gently separated, orientated and finally inserted into the packaging cavities. The high flexibility of the system enables reliable handling of different products and pack sizes.

The thermoforming packaging machine can be retooled quickly and reproducibly thanks to special die change systems and the use of a complete cutting die, which can be replaced quickly and easily. The proven chain guide of the thermoforming packaging machine ensures simple line clearance. The controlled film feed contributes to low start-up losses, for example after a batch change. Running the machine empty („run empty function“) is also very simple. This makes this concept particularly suitable for Small series and frequent batch changes suitable. With a single-sided chain guide, a special design will be shown at the trade fair that enables the flexible use of rigid film in various film widths.

For small series

In the area of Traysealer MULTIVAC shows the semi-automatic T 260, which is specially designed for packaging sensitive products in small batch sizes. The mobile and therefore flexible compact model is suitable for processing a wide range of trays. When packaging small to medium-sized batches, the T 260 offers a high degree of process reliability, reproducibility and, above all, flexibility. The sealing tool ensures controlled sealing pressure as well as precise temperature distribution and therefore a reproducible packaging process.

Display

From its wide range of chamber machines, MULTIVAC presents the Chamber machine C 300 TC before. It enables the safe packaging of pharmaceutical products and sterile medical goods in pouches, whereby packaging can be produced under vacuum or in a modified atmosphere with a reduced residual oxygen content. A temperature-controlled and permanently heated sealing bar, which can be both validated and calibrated, ensures that this machine Reproducible sealing quality.

Reliable labelling

At Achema, MULTIVAC will be demonstrating how packs of pharmaceuticals and medical products can be labelled highly efficiently and reliably, using the example of the flexible L 300 conveyor belt labeller. It reliably applies labels to the packs from above, below and over the corner - and can therefore be used for all standard tasks without any problems. Thanks to its own MC 08 controller, the model can not only be used in a packaging line, but also as a stand-alone solution.

From the area of inspection solutions, the I 410 for optical inspection tasks at the trade fair. The possible applications of the I 410 range from checking the completeness of the pack to checking the presence and position of the label and checking the print - including pattern and text recognition, text checking, legibility and code checking. Thanks to the high-resolution line scan camera and powerful image processing, reliable quality and labelling checks can be carried out from above and below.
