Neste and the South Korean chemical company Lotte Chemical are now working together to produce more sustainable plastics and chemical products. The companies are launching a strategic collaboration to replace fossil raw materials with renewable raw materials in their production.
The result is products and applications that reduce CO2-footprint than those made from fossil raw materials. As part of the collaboration, Neste provides renewable Neste RE, a raw material for the production of plastics and chemical products that is Made from 100 per cent renewable raw materials becomes.
Lotte Chemical will use Neste RE at the company's sites in Korea to produce various common plastics and chemical products as part of the company's broad product portfolio. These can then be used in numerous applications and in the supply chains of various end products, from packaging to construction and from textiles to electronics. The quality and properties of the end products remain unchanged.
As plastics and chemical products are still largely based on fossil raw materials, both companies recognise the urgent need to switch to more sustainable alternatives.
„We look forward to working with Lotte Chemical to increase the share of renewable solutions. Together, we can pave the way for more sustainable supply chains and lower emissions for a wide range of industries and applications.“ Jeroen Verhoeven, Vice President Value Chain Development for Renewable Plastics and Chemical Products at Neste
