The Swiss mechanical engineering company Netstal is presenting a PET preform line at this year's drinktec. The threads produced on the machine are already suitable for tethered caps.
On the drinktec becomes Netstal presented the new PET-Line with side gating to an international trade audience for the first time at a trade fair. The new series was launched in autumn 2020 with models with a clamping force of 4000 kN for moulds with up to 128 cavities. The Swiss company has now expanded its portfolio to include variants with 3000 kN and is bringing a PET-Line 3000-4000 to the trade fair stand in Hall C5. The system is suitable for moulds with up to 96 cavities and has a lock-to-lock time of just 1.9 seconds.
„Our strategy of reorganising the market for side-entry systems is paying off. With the new PET-Line, we are now winning significantly more new customers than before. The system convinces customers with lower production costs per preform. The 5000 kN model is already under development in order to reach additional customer groups soon„, says Renzo Davatz, CEO of Netstal and member of the Executive Committee of the KraussMaffei Group. The new PET-Line 3000 can already be ordered and the first models are already running successfully with customers. The company will provide separate information on the sales launch of the larger PET-Line 5000 at a later date.
