
Mondi has developed sleeve packaging for PET multipacks from Coca-Cola HBC Austria. It replaces shrink packaging made of plastic and keeps the beverage bottles together during transport.
Mondi has launched a new, more sustainable sleeve packaging on the market. This serves as Replacement for the conventional plastic shrink packaging of 1.5 litre multipacks of carbonated soft drinks, which are from Coca-Cola HBC in Austria, and holds them reliably in place. The Hug-IT solution holds six bottles firmly together during transport and is made from Mondi's Advantage SpringPack Plus, which has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the strongest paper in the world.
The Hug IT sleeve has a high tensile strength and elasticity, which means that the six bottles The band will securely hold the 1.5 litre PET multipacks together in an upright position during transport - from the factory to the retailer to the consumer. Advantage SpringPack Plus is made from 100 per cent kraft paper, which is produced from wood, a renewable material. The kraft paper is made from responsibly sourced fibres and can be used in the existing paper recycling streams can be recycled.
The development of the Hug IT solution took three years, from the conception, planning and test phase to the finished product on the shelves.
