
At the annual general meeting of Zellcheming, Prof Dr Helga Zöllner-Croll was elected as the new chairwoman of the association. The meeting was accompanied by the Zellcheming Expo, which was also attended by many young talents.
Prof Dr Zollner-Croll succeeds Dr Ernst-Ulrich Wittmann, Withers & Rogers, on a rotating basis. Dr Frank P. Meltzer, Mercer Pulp Sales GmbH, was elected Deputy Chairman. Carsten Melchert was confirmed in office as Treasurer, as was Prof Dr Markus Biesalski as Chairman of the Main Committee. Other persons were confirmed in office or newly elected.
Zellcheming is the platform for the professional exchange between all those involved in the development of sustainable paper and fibre-based products. are involved. The guiding principle is: Future in every fibre. The association sees itself as a link between science and the manufacturing processes of paper and fibre-based products and their marketing.
The Specialist committees further develop technical topics and occupy new areas whose importance for the industry is growing. By highlighting best practices and standardisation work, Zellcheming promotes the transfer of knowledge within the association, in research and in industry.
A particular focus is on the Promotion of young talent through awards, scholarships, financial and professional support. The Zellcheming association has created a new platform for this purpose. The Careers Day celebrated its premiere on the third day of the trade fair. More than 300 young professionals travelled to Wiesbaden in groups. The programme spots included, for example, the presentation of the Zellcheming Young Talent Award, the keynote speech on the topic of "Not interested in 08/15 jobs - what Generation Z really wants", a visit to the Newcomer Pavilion and a live tour in ABB's demo truck, as well as participation in the Paper Rally with professional game management.
