Securikett has developed a new coating technology that is intended to significantly improve counterfeit protection. This so-called „structured silicone coating“ not only offers additional security features but also opens up new functional possibilities for labels.
Securikett’s new technology is based on a special coating technique that allows precisely defined areas to be punched out during the production of the label material. These areas remain on the carrier material while the actual label detaches. This creates visible windows, small openings, or other specific structures directly in the label, which not only serve practical functions but also act as security features. These precise structures, which are created during material production, are very difficult for counterfeiters to replicate.
Vanessa Mitterer-Kling from Securikett's Research and Development department explains: „We can already define during production where a label should adhere and where not. This allows entirely new functions and security features to be integrated directly into the label.“
Expanded design and functional capabilities
The new coating technology significantly expands the design and functional possibilities of modern security labels. Manufacturers can integrate additional features into their products while simultaneously increasing protection against counterfeiting. Another advantage is that the labels remain compatible with standard application processes, allowing for easy implementation into existing production lines.

An example of the new design possibilities is the ability to punch out specific shapes, such as stars, from the label, which then remain on the carrier material. This functionality not only opens up creative design options but also enhances counterfeit protection.
As the threat of product counterfeiting continues to grow, the need for innovative solutions to enhance anti-counterfeiting measures is becoming increasingly urgent. The technology developed by Securikett offers manufacturers an effective way to better protect their products while also taking advantage of new design possibilities.
