In combination with the new MSK Covershrink energy-saving kit, the shrink frame from MSK Covertech enables flexible packaging of pallet loads. The packaging technology is attracting widespread interest from leading manufacturers, particularly in the cardboard industry.

The new generation of shrink frames introduced by the MSK Covertech Group in 2020, in combination with the new MSK Covershrink energy-saving kit, enables pallet loads to be wrapped with high energy efficiency and minimal film consumption and high flexibility. The packaging machine manufacturer MSK has received numerous orders from leading manufacturers, particularly from the cardboard industry.

Thin films, minimal energy consumption

In his Packaging systems for load securing MSK uses innovative technology and patented processes that sustainably reduce the use of energy, supported by the use of the thinnest films and minimised film consumption.

„Even before the latest development of our shrink technology, the energy consumption of an MSK shrink frame was on average around 10 per cent below the average level. The new generation of shrink frames introduced in 2020 now reduces gas consumption by an additional 13 per cent.“ Uwe Jonkmanns, Sales & Marketing Director at MSK.

Noise emissions have been further reduced in the new version. It also offers simple parameterisation via the MSK Emsy software. The new shrink frames have already been delivered to various industries. For example, a Finnish paper company has been using a one MSK Synchrotech shrink frame which packs numerous different paper formats. A high-performance version with 250 cycles per hour packs large household appliances at a leading household appliance manufacturer in Poland.

The new shrink frame version has also been delivered to several manufacturers in the chemical industry and is part of four other major orders from the paper and cardboard industry. Some of the cardboard manufacturers have opted for the use of Electroshrink frames of the type MSK Corritech This is a contribution to avoiding the use of fossil fuels.

The greatest possible heat and therefore energy savings can be achieved by using the newly developed MSK Covershrink energy-saving kit. In combination with an MSK shrink frame, the technology ensures that heat generated during shrink wrapping is utilised even more efficiently through recovery and heat loss is avoided by a largely closed system.

„The new MSK Covershrink was a decisive argument for some of our customers. Saving energy when packaging very different load dimensions with high throughput is particularly important in the paper and cardboard industry. The targeted generation of heat directly at the load with the lowest possible losses to the environment is crucial for an energy-saving packaging system,“ says Uwe Jonkmanns, explaining the advantage of the Covershrink module, which enables energy savings of up to 40 per cent.

Intelligent complete system with MSK Emsy 6

Including peripheral devices such as scanners, labellers, scales, etc., the connection to customer systems and the entire pallet logistics with conveyor technology and pallet handling, the MSK specialises in the engineering and supply of complete end-of-line packaging lines. The MSK Emsy 6 software networks the machines into an intelligent overall system.

In the paper and cardboard industry, the company supplies solutions from the transfer of the pallets and their separation after the cross cutter to the pallet warehouse. MSK Emsy keeps a complete record of all pallet data and communicates with the customer's system on request. In this way, the software makes a significant for the automation of the entire packaging line with. MSK offers further digitalisation in the packaging sector with software products such as the MSK Emsy smart app for mobile status monitoring of MSK systems or the MSK Emsy move tablet for mobile fine adjustment of conveyor lines in the field.
