Omron is launching a new high-performance barcode reader that combines innovative image processing, intelligent decoding and ultra-fast processing. It can be used in the food and beverage industry, the pharmaceutical industry and in logistics, among others.

The VHV5-F barcode reader is equipped with a multi-core processor engine, a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI acceleration, high-speed sensors and an advanced X-Mode 6.0 decoding algorithm and achieves instant read rates of 99.99 per cent. The reader can process up to 4,000 parts per minute and verify up to 1,200 parts per minute. Pipeline capture and parallel processing ensure seamless real-time decoding of even the most demanding Direct Part Mark (DPM) codes.

This modern generation of code reading is suitable for a wide range of companies and sectors, including the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical industry, automotive companies, logistics, electrical industry or high-speed printing. Its autofocus function with a range of up to two metres enables Seamless reading of barcodes in high-speed conveyor systems, robot-supported conveyor belts and scanning applications in warehouses. 2.3 MP and 5 MP sensor options and four different high-speed autofocus lenses ensure maximum flexibility. The VHV5-F's optical system features ultra-bright flash illumination with optional diffusers and polarisers to ensure high-contrast images even in challenging conditions.

In addition, the VHV5-F offers Smart Assist Mode, which automatically adjusts the lighting, focus and decoding parameters, to maximise readability and facilitate setup. The „Learn all codes“ function“ simplifies multi-code applications, as several barcode types can be recognised and configured without manual intervention. For production lines that process specific part types, the optimisation mode improves decoding performance and ensures greater reading consistency and efficiency.

Display

The new barcode reader has a robust, IP69K-certified housing, which is ideal for use in a wide range of applications. for use in challenging, dusty or damp industrial environments suitable.

The VHV5-F not only reads codes, but also also offers tools for checking of ISO 15416, 15415 and 29158 codes for readability assessments in real time (0-99). This ensures the Compliance with traceability and helps manufacturers to recognise and rectify quality problems with barcodes before they affect production.
