Bluhm has developed a new system for labelling cylindrical products that enables the fully automatic wrap-around labelling of cans, bottles, buckets and canisters in various sizes.
It is reminiscent of a formation dance: one can after the other begins to rotate while a label is wiped onto it as it „dances past“: The new Geset 221 labelling system from labelling supplier Bluhm Systeme GmbH in Rheinbreitbach is a versatile system for the automatic labelling of cylindrical products. It offers a Favourable entry-level option for fully automatic wrap-around labelling of cans, bottles, buckets or canisters in various sizes. Products with diameters between 25 and 125 millimetres and heights between 30 and 300 millimetres can „dance along“.

Geset 221 labelling system for high-speed labelling
Various label dispensers can be integrated into the system. These include, for example, the high-speed labeller Alpha HSM. The dispenser works at the same speed as the conveyor belt to ensure that the labelling process runs smoothly.
At a maximum belt speed of 20 metres per minute, up to four products can be labelled per second using the so-called WipeOn process: As soon as a product passes the label dispenser, a product sensor starts applying the label. A wrapping belt, which is mounted parallel to the conveyor belt, picks up the pack and sets it in a rotating motion. This the label can wrap around the product cleanly, without bubbles or creases. The Geset 221 can process pre-printed or blank labels with widths of up to 200 millimetres.
