New management at DS Smith Packaging

Personnel changes at DS Smith: Uwe Väth takes over the management of Germany and Switzerland at DS Smith Packaging.

DS Smith, manufacturer of sustainable packaging, has reorganised its packaging division in Germany and Switzerland. Since the end of January, Uwe Väth has been responsible for the further development of both markets as Managing Director.

According to DS Smith, the new appointment is intended to particular importance of the German packaging market take this into account. Philip Bautil, who as Managing Director was previously also responsible for Germany and Switzerland in addition to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (Benelux), will focus entirely on Benelux in future.

Uwe Väth brings with him many years of experience in the field of operations and extensive management expertise. Most recently, as Vice President since 2015, the engineering graduate was very successfully responsible for the Operations division at Schenck Process, which included global purchasing as well as production and supply chain. He previously worked for more than 10 years at the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers AG in Frankfurt, where he helped build up the strategy and operations division and implemented projects in the areas of supply chain, purchasing, quality and logistics, among others.
