New PAKI COO prioritises growth and circular economy

David Mayo, the new COO of PAKi, has set himself the goal of driving the growth of the pooling company in Europe.

David Mayo is the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PAKi. He brings over thirty years of logistics expertise to the top position at PAKi and has set itself the goal of driving the company's growth. PAKi is one of the largest pooling specialists for exchangeable and standardised load carriers in Europe and, together with its partners, operates an extensive network of around 10,000 pooling stations, guaranteeing immediate access to pallets and boxes in any desired quantity and quality throughout Europe.

David Mayo joins PAKi, a Faber Halbertsma Group company, from CHEP. He was with CHEP for a total of 18 years for many years, most recently in the role of Vice President for Global Accounts and Intercontinental Business. Prior to his career in civilian logistics, Mayo spent 19 years in the British Armed Forces. He completed his Studies at the R.M.A. Sandhurst and then served in various capacities in the UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea and Nepal.

At PAKi, he has set himself the goal of helping the company, which has over 40 years of experience in the market, with its ambitious growth plans as provider sustainable services and as Pioneer of the circular economy support.

If you understand that Pooling as resource sharing, the principle behind it is easier to understand, says Mayo: „It's about the Cooperation between customers with each other: the more customers we have, the better. You can think of PAKi as a bank for pallets. As such, we can rent, sell, buy back, invest in, upgrade and transfer our goods and those of all participants in the pool back and forth indefinitely and for the benefit of all.“ This gives PAKi a significant Investment advantage as well as dense local coverage and Flexibility, to efficiently serve customers everywhere using the open pool.

Looking to the future, Mayo says that PAKi will continue to grow in terms of growth. on the threshold of the next „evolutionary step“ in the future. Together with the team, he is responsible for the Introduction of new processes and operating procedures, to support the company in its next steps.

With the support of the new COO, PAKi intends to Costs for the entire supply chain and minimise expenditure on administration - and without losses or unnecessary waiting times at the ramp and with clear quality criteria. This means that the required quantities and qualities of load carriers can always be made available throughout Europe.

David Mayo will also be involved with the stronger connection of vPOOL which PAKi took over at the beginning of the year. The Wörnitz-based company specialises in the Sale and hire of containers, crates and pallets of all kinds for the meat and food industry.
