The industry association European Bioplastics (EUBP) has moved its headquarters from Berlin to Brussels and appointed Lorenza Romanese as its new Secretary General.
With the move to Brussels, the organisation representing the interests of the bioplastics industry in Europe intends to focus its strategic orientation on a more intensive cooperation with the EU institutions and emphasise greater involvement in political decision-making processes at European level.
In the course of the relocation Lorenza Romanese the function of Secretary General. Romanese has extensive experience in the areas of Sustainability and public affairs and should lead the organisation through its next development phase.
„This step is a logical milestone in our growth. Our presence in Brussels puts us at the centre of EU decision-making, allowing us to strengthen our lobbying work and deepen our collaboration with stakeholders across the entire value chain.“

The move builds on the EUBP office in Brussels, which opened in 2023, and reflects the Increasing importance of bioplastics in the context of the European circular economy reflected. EUBP sees bio-based, biodegradable and compostable plastics as key building blocks for a sustainable and competitive future for Europe.
The Berlin office will continue to exist and supports ongoing activities such as the annual European Bioplastics Conference, the Seedling Label and research and innovation projects.
