New sensors for presence monitoring

With 5B, Leuze presents a new sensor series for presence monitoring in intralogistics and packaging processes.

Leuze presents a new sensor series for presence detection in intralogistics and packaging processes. The 5B series reliably detects objects and is easy to use.

Leuze has developed the new 5B sensor series with flexible handling and high cost-effectiveness. The company offers the sensors as Retro-reflective sensors, through-beam sensors and diffuse sensors on. The 5B series is certified to protection class IP 67 and ECOLAB.

Easy installation and handling for users

With their compact housing (11 x 32.4 x 20 millimetres; W x H x L), the sensors are suitable for tight installation situations. For example, they can be Install close to conveyor lines. The 5B series is also installation-compatible with the previous series. This makes modernisation easier. The metal inserts with M3 thread also contribute to easy installation.

Thanks to the potentiometer, system operators can quickly adjust the sensors and adapt them to changing conditions at any time. The sensors can be conveniently aligned using the homogeneous and light spot. Various electrical Connection options, e.g. via cable, M8 connector or pigtail, contribute to flexibility.

Display

The 5B series sensors detect even depolarising objects such as reflective, film-shrinked or shiny objects reliable. The through-beam sensors operate at a switching frequency of up to 900 Hz and therefore offer high performance and a high functional reserve. The range for this variant is up to 15 metres, and up to 6.5 metres for the retro-reflective photoelectric sensors. The photoelectric proximity switches operate with a switching frequency of up to 1,000 Hz.
