New Vice President for BDE

The Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water and Recycling Industry has appointed Timo Poppe as its new Vice President.

The Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water and Circular Economy has a new Vice President. Timo Poppe was appointed to the position by the Executive Committee. 

The Presidium of the BDE The Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water and Circular Economy today appointed the CEO of EEW Energy from Waste GmbH Timo Poppe co-opted to the BDE Executive Committee with immediate effect. With this appointment to the Executive Committee, the Importance of thermal utilisation carried in the direction of, which is currently the focus of regulatory changes at federal and European level.

The 42-year-old Poppe, former CEO of swb AG and Chief Representative of EWE AG, has been the new CEO of EEW since 1 July 2023 and can look back on many years of experience in the German energy and water industry.

„We are delighted to have Timo Poppe, CEO of the most important market player in thermal waste utilisation, join the association. The thermal utilisation of non-recyclable waste is indispensable in a modern circular economy, which does not change the fact that we need to recycle more and better. For the future, we expect further challenges for the entire industry, particularly with regard to the recycling of CO2 and the standardised Europe-wide regulation of emissions trading.“
