Sustainable NexPlus packaging paper as a replacement for plastic

With NexPlus, the Koehler Group meets the rapidly increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions, not only from the food industry. Koehler NexPlus papers are characterised by their Barrier coating with various functions and properties out. These are, in particular, barriers for aromas, fats, oils, water vapour or gases, which combine with the paper's own functionalities, such as high strength properties and natural feel, to create an effective overall concept. After use, the barrier papers are waste paper and therefore a sought-after recycled raw material.

Brand owners can register their NexPlus product packaging as paper with the waste disposal companies. As they are easily recyclable, the distributors are compensated for this in comparison to classic composite solutions, significantly lower licence fees were charged.  By awarding its "Made for Recycling" certificate, Interseroh confirms that the tested papers are highly recyclable when disposed of via the waste paper collection system.

"The Interseroh certification is a confirmation of our development work. Our customers can register this product packaging as paper and therefore have a cost advantage compared to traditional duplex solutions, for example. The top marks from Interseroh impressively show that the customer also recognises our packaging paper as such and can correctly assign it to the waste paper cycle."
