Discounter Norma has increased the proportion of recycled material in its own brands Kaiserkrone and Klosterhof to 25 per cent. The films of the 6-pack containers of both own-brand beers are now also made from 50 per cent recycled material.

As a result, the bottles and films of a total of seven products from the food discounter's PET beer range are now made from this resource-saving material. These include Radler and Radler non-alcoholic, Hefe-Weißbier, Pils, Gold Premium beer and the beer speciality extra - all from Kaiserkrone. There is also the Premium Pils from Klosterhof, also in 0.5-litre bottles.

According to the company, the measure, which is part of Norma's comprehensive sustainability strategy, will save 245 tonnes of so-called „virgin plastic“ per year. This is what experts call plastic that has been newly produced from basic resources.
