Herma now offers an online configurator with which machine manufacturers and system integrators can configure their Herma 500 labeller according to their specific requirements.
When it comes to labellers, practically every user or machine manufacturer has their own specific requirements. Now you can the right device with just a few mouse clicks without the need for time-consuming on-site appointments, without having to send powerful CAD data, without having to study thick catalogues with their labyrinth of possible configuration and equipment variants.
Put together your own labeller with the online configurator
To make the integration of a labeller as convenient and quick as possible right from the start of a project, Herma now offers a Online configurator. Machine builders and system integrators can thus your Herma 500 including tripod - and therefore ready to install - according to your wishes and requirements, either yourself or together with a Herma expert.
This applies, for example, to the overall width, running direction and unwinding systems, as well as the required speed and the type of unwinders and rewinders used. The highlight here is that the corresponding CAD data is then available for download in various output formats available.
„So you can export the configured CAD model and transfer it to your own machine or line. You can immediately see if there are any interfering contours. If this is the case, you can simply optimise the selected model in the configurator.“ Jana Paul, project manager at Herma labelling machines
On this basis, it is also possible to a data sheet with 3D visualisations for the individually configured labeller. Thanks to the intelligent selection logic of the configurator, impossible combinations are excluded from the outset. Another advantage: depending on the selected version, the price of the desired configuration is displayed immediately.
„This means that Herma provides all the important parameters for successful project planning and realisation practically in real time,“ explains Jana Paul. Thanks to the automated ordering process, the company also promises a exceptionally short delivery time: around eleven working days. Once configured and ordered, the versions can also be saved for repeat orders. „This is helpful for machine manufacturers who need 30 or more identical Herma 500s per year, but usually order them one at a time.“
Driving forward the digital transformation
The new online configurator is just one example of how Herma drives the digital transformation. In addition to an integrated web server, the labeller is equipped with interfaces such as OPC UA and Modbus TCP for connection to common higher-level control systems. Thanks to the supported Industrial Ethernet protocols such as Profinet and Ethernet/IP, it can also be integrated into Control systems from Siemens, Schneider and Allen-Bradley in real time can be integrated - a major advantage with regard to Industry 4.0.
Investment security is also ensured by the simple and timely Function and performance extension via code activation. This means that the user does not have to invest in new labellers or send their device in for a service appointment if the range of requirements and applications expands. „One and the same labeller can cover an enormous range of performance and functions thanks to the upgrade function.“
