The production of blood collection tubes for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 pathogen requires numerous precise assembly, dosing and packaging steps. Optima Automation now offers an efficient machine line for this as a complete solution.
The solution from Optima Automation combines numerous functions inline right through to the final Transport packaging for blood collection tubes. It is essential to first clean the tubes using deionised air and then irradiate them with UV-C LED light in order to effectively reduce any germs that may be present.
This is followed by dosing stations for additives, which are added according to the laboratory diagnostic requirements. The Optima BCT-200 can therefore be used for the production of blood collection tubes for almost all diagnostic applications of this type are mixed. Liquid, gel-like and powdery additives are dosed with high precision - a prerequisite for the subsequent correct mixing ratio with the blood.
Various additives require a drying process, which is carried out in the plant. The special drying system allows the High line output of up to 200 blood collection tubes per minute to be maintained. Subsequently, the Tubes sealed under vacuum. The vacuum applied is in turn a prerequisite for subsequent simple and precise blood sampling from the patient and reliable blood analysis.
In addition to the Optima BCT-200 assembly line, the caps are produced in advance by a second Optima machine, the Optima BCA-200, mounted. These Presses rubber stoppers into plastic caps and checks the correct assembly. The caps are then made available on the assembly line.
process controls, but in particular also the specifically designed feeding systems for all components, ensure efficient processes and high product quality. The dosing systems of the Optima BCT-200 are a key quality feature. As the additives can differ from manufacturer to manufacturer and from application to application, Optima Automation has developed a Own dosing laboratory for customised solutions set up.
