From 25 to 27 November 2019, the practical seminar „Modern Filling“ took place at Optima Pharma in Schwäbisch Hall. It was organised by gmp-experts BeratungsGmbH and Optima Pharma. The seminar was aimed at employees of pharmaceutical companies, suppliers and consulting companies. The participants completed the practical part in the assembly halls of Optima Pharma.

The smoother the sterile transfer of liquid and powdered medicinal products into containers, the higher the Added value for pharmaceutical companies. High dosing accuracy and high product quality are required - modern filling technology fulfils this and therefore plays a strategic role in the production process of companies.

For this reason, gmp-experts, a consultancy firm for the pharmaceutical industry, organised a practical seminar in Schwäbisch Hall together with Optima Pharma. GMP stands for „Good Manufacturing Practice“, i.e. good manufacturing practice, and therefore guidelines for quality assurance in the production of medicinal products, which are laid down in national and international regulations. Employees in the pharmaceutical industry who plan, qualify, validate and operate filling systems benefited from the seminar.

Axel Wagner, Technical Sales Manager, coordinated the event at Optima Pharma and introduced the company to the visitors. In particular, he emphasised the Significance of complete systems which can be accepted at the new CSPE centre. The CSPE process shortens delivery times and significantly speeds up the commissioning of pharmaceutical plants.

In addition to the theoretical basics of filling technology, the participants at the CSPE Centre learned, among other things, how to use a virtual mock-ups (a 3D representation in the Virtual Reality Centre), the „first shot“ in the real mock-up, a wooden model, fits much better.

This makes it possible to realistically determine at an early stage whether all points within pharmaceutical plants are accessible to operators and whether adjustments need to be made to the design. In addition, the Virtual system for training purposes be utilised.

At three stations, visitors also learnt all about isolator technologies, filling machines, hygiene requirements, measurement technology, filter tests and the advantages and disadvantages of different dosing systems.
