Now cancelled after all. Following a postponement from March to September, the German Packaging Congress was originally scheduled to take place as a double event together with the German Packaging Award ceremony on 23 September 2020. The German Packaging Institute has now cancelled this due to the coronavirus pandemic and is offering a week of dialogue as an online event instead.
Unfortunately, according to the management of Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V., it has become clear in recent days and weeks that the danger of the pandemic has not yet been averted. As the safety and health of the speakers, participants and partners has the highest priority and renewed contact and travel bans by the authorities must be expected at any time, the unfortunately no alternative to the cancellation of the presence event given. Ticket fees already paid will be refunded promptly.
First dvi dialogue week
However, as the need for dialogue within the packaging industry increases in times of crisis, the DVI has opted for a digital alternative event. The Digital dialogue week will take place from 21-25 September 2020 and is intended to provide space for the exchange of knowledge, thoughts and visions. Workshops on various current topics will be offered daily. Further details on the dvi dialogue week will follow shortly. DVI members receive free admission to all workshops.
The gold winners of the German Packaging Award 2020 will be announced on 24 September 2020 as part of the dvi Dialogue Week. In addition, the best innovations from the major exhibition will be presented under the patronage of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy.
The next German Packaging Congress is scheduled to take place on 18 and 19 March 2021 take place.
