Ishida's packaging technology is widely used in the food industry. At this year's Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, the manufacturer will be presenting its wide range of high-performance systems for weighing, packaging and quality control.
Pre-packed fresh salads are becoming increasingly popular in the retail sector. Ishida demonstrates their efficient packaging in trays with a high-performance line. The line integrates a CCW-RV multihead weigher customised for the application with a newly developed carousel filling system and a QX-775 Flex traysealer. Safety at the end of the line is ensured by three quality control systemsThe AirScan leak detection system checks each individual tray for escaping CO2 in milliseconds, the IX-EN X-ray inspection system identifies foreign bodies and a DACS-GN checkweigher ensures the correct weight.
An X-ray inspection system for particularly demanding detection tasks

The IX-G2 high-performance X-ray inspection system detects impurities as small as 0.3 mm at high speed. Typical applications are processed, unevenly shaped or overlapping meat products in the packaging. Even bone splinters in poultry fillets can be detected by using the Dual Energy technologyThe Ishida system utilises two energetically different radiation sources simultaneously, whereas conventional X-ray inspection systems only use one X-ray source.
High performance for mixing applications
A high-performance multihead weigher from the CCW-RV series with 32 heads achieves a speed of up to 440 weighings per minute when processing mono-products. Alternatively, the weigher can also be used for applications with multi-mixtures and multiple ejections into a package. Thanks to its waterproof design the machine is ideal for frozen food.
The right multihead weigher for every application

Ishida will also be showing various multihead weighers for applications with special requirements. A 14-head CCW-RV weigher, for example, weighs products such as spices, herbs, dried vegetables, tea leaves or soup ingredients with ultra-small target weights of between 0.5 g and 40 g. With an accuracy of 0.01 g, the machine can achieve speeds of up to 120 weighings per minute. Another 14-head model in the CCW-RV series is ideal for fragile bakery products, which can be processed extremely gently even at high speeds. The CCW-R2 linear multihead weigher processes highly adhesive products in smaller batches and ensures an enormous increase in efficiency compared to manual processes.
