The „Packaging Steel“ app from thyssenkrupp now has new features that provide users with even more digital information about tinplate as a packaging material.
Version 3.1, which is currently available in the stores, includes interactive conversions for coil material, a glossary with the most important terms from the world of packaging steel and a new section on the sustainability of tinplate.
Information on the sustainability of packaging steel
„With the update, we have added functionalities to the ‚Packaging Steel‘ app that our customers need in their daily work. For example, we frequently receive enquiries about the sustainability of packaging steel. These can now be answered directly by tapping on the relevant section. Many packaging manufacturers and the filling industry are particularly interested in information about the recyclability and recycling rate of tinplate in the current climate debate,“ says Carmen Tschage, responsible for communication and market development at Germany's only tinplate manufacturer.
Length calculator for coils
In the new version, the existing calculation tool of the app extended by a further conversion option. After entering the weight, width and thickness of a coil, the calculation tool calculates the length of the coil. On this basis, users can quickly determine how many units of tinplate packaging - for example lids or hulls - they can produce from a coil. The calculation is supplemented by the tried-and-tested coil and sheet calculator.
Finally, a new feature of the current version of the „Packaging Steel“ app is the glossary. Here, users can find helpful explanations of the most important terms from the product range of thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH. This feature supports all customers who want to order the right material for their application and are familiar with terms such as „Tensile strength“ or „annealing process“ are not yet familiar.
Three years of success in the app stores
The „Packaging Steel“ app, which has been available in the app stores for three years, gives users a Overview of all available packaging steel grades from thyssenkrupp and their respective specifications. However, the app also focuses on current innovations from the world's largest production site for packaging steel - for example „rasselstein® Solidflex“. Users can find out about the potential for all applications of the stable material and get an overview of the available coating options. Push notifications keep users up to date with the latest news about rasselstein®-packaging steel up to date.
Update 3.1 of the „Packaging Steel“ app is available in the app stores for Android and iOS downloadable. The app is free of charge and is available in German and English available.
