When searching for sustainable solutions, many companies often lack detailed knowledge about bio-based plastics. To support them, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is now funding a new approach to providing information with the PackMit joint project.
Training programmes are being designed for future experts who are to pass this knowledge on to food packagers in particular. In this way, the proportion of bio-based packaging concepts is to be significantly increased.
In order to provide food packagers with knowledge about the processing properties and functionalities of bio-based plastics, the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences and Sigmaringen Economic Development Agency are developing training concepts and a certified training course for packaging experts, for example.
Information on the joint project „PackWith - Training concept for the transfer of packaging information in the food industry“ can be found in the project database of the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR) under the funding codes 2220NR006-A (Albstadt Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences) and 2220NR006-B (Sigmaringen Economic Development Agency).
