The Panther Group is planning a comprehensive expansion of the RRK corrugated cardboard factory in Bottrop. With the purchase of a 30,000 square metre site and the construction of new facilities, production capacity is to be significantly increased.

RRK Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG in Bottrop will be significantly expanded in the coming years. In July 2025, the company acquired a neighbouring plot of land measuring around 30,000 square metres. According to current plans, a new corrugated cardboard plant is to be built there, supplemented by storage space for paper and semi-finished goods. The aim is fully automated and IT-supported production with a capacity of over 300 million square metres per year.

The planned investment amounts to around 40 million euros. According to the company, the specific timing of the measures depends on economic developments in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and is to be finalised in 2026. The Panther Group also expects the new technology to significantly reduce relative CO₂ emissions at the site.

Site in Saxony-Anhalt grows

Further investments are also being made at other Group locations. For example, a new production and warehouse building for Coswiger Wellpappe in Saxony-Anhalt will go into operation in August 2025. This should enable the site to grow by around 30 per cent.

Another strategic goal of the Panther Group remains training and further education. Around six million euros are invested in corresponding programmes each year. Apprentices currently make up around eleven per cent of the workforce. The children and grandchildren of employees are guaranteed training at the company, which, as a family-run business, is committed to retaining its employees' families in the long term.
