
Graphic Packaging International has teamed up with healthy food supplier, Picadeli, to develop a new range of plastic-free cardboard lids for its paper-based salad bowls.
Picadeli can replace its entire range of plastic lids with the new cardboard lids and thus ban another 250 tonnes of plastic from its supply chain. The new lids can be recycled via paper-based household waste and are made from renewable plant fibres from sustainably managed forests.
The new development offers a secure snap closure system that is an improvement on Picadeli's previous solution. As a result, the healthy food provider can now a plastic-free combination of salad bowl and lid that is characterised by good functionality and meets the demands of consumers.
