Henkel is celebrating the 110th anniversary of its self-cleaning detergent with various campaigns, including the development of a retro label for the packaging, which adorns the Persil promotional packs as a limited edition.
The products manufactured by the STI Group Self-adhesive labels give Henkel the opportunity to realise a special edition for a limited time without any major additional expense. The well-known Persil motif of the white lady is at the centre of the anniversary design. She appears on the packs in both a classic and a modern style, in keeping with the motto „Into the future“.
During the production of the labels, in addition to the Offset printing A flexo varnish is used to increase the abrasion resistance of the label. The silver foil embossing emphasises the 110-year logo and the floral elements on the pack. „Another challenge was to implement the Persil brand colours, Henkel red and Henkel blue, in combination with the other effects,“ says György Kolozsvári, Sales Manager at STI Petöfi Nyomda.
[infotext icon]On 6 June 1907, the Düsseldorf-based company Henkel & Cie. launched the world's first self-acting washing powder on the market. It contained the bleaching agent perborate, which ensures that oxygen bubbles up in the water and removes the dirt particles from the fibres. This gentle cleaning process made the hard work on the scouring board and subsequent sun bleaching superfluous. The new detergent was given a name based on two of its most important ingredients: perborate and silicate became Persil[/infotext].
