Multivac's trade fair appearance will focus on a packaging line for the production of pharmaceutical combination packs and a conveyor belt labeller for the flexible and secure labelling of pharmaceutical products. Another focus of the trade fair will be the presentation of sustainable packaging concepts.
The packaging line, which will be on display at the trade fair, provides pharmaceutical Combination packs with syringe, filter and vial made from sustainable monofilm . The core element of this line is the RX 4.0 thermoforming packaging machine in GMP design, which is equipped with a glass enclosure for optimum production conditions. An integrated Scara robot takes over the precise, automated loading of the individual products. Before the top web is sealed to the bottom web, the top web is printed inline in multiple colours by a digital printer. The print image is then visually inspected by an optical inspection system.
Sensitive products are protected in the process by a protected by a cooled product protection plateIf the machine comes to a standstill, the protective plate automatically positions itself between the hot sealing plate and the product. Following the packaging process, a 6-axis robot separates the packs between good and faulty packs and places them on various conveyor belts for downstream process steps.
The RX 4.0 thermoforming packaging machine offers comprehensive sensor technology and continuous process monitoring High process accuracy and reproducibility. The RFID-coded moulds are permanently monitored to ensure that format changes are carried out safely and that the changed moulds are positioned correctly. The entire line can be controlled conveniently and intuitively via the packaging machine's user-friendly HMI.
Flexible and secure labelling
The conveyor belt labellers in the L 320 series offer high flexibility and precision for the Labelling of cylindrical products, such as vials, medical bottles or jars. Printing, label application and verification are integrated on one machine and can be controlled from an operator terminal. Labelling takes place all around or on the front and back, depending on the application. Sealing labels can also be applied. The products are transported on a plastic link conveyor, where they can be accumulated, allocated and aligned. The Modular design of the labeller allows perfect customisation to the complex requirements of the pharmaceutical industry thanks to a wide range of options for product handling, printing and inspection. It can be quickly and easily converted to alternative product formats and is therefore highly versatile.
It also offers Multivac a broad portfolio of Inspection solutions for labelling and product control. These include various components such as cameras, code readers or sensors, which can be seamlessly integrated into the packaging machine or labeller, or used as a stand-alone inspection system.
