From 11 May 2020, Lidl will be offering a plastic-saving product solution in the packaging-intensive detergent segment for the first time. The new refill tabs from Lidl's own brand "W5" are dissolved in tap water and can therefore replace the purchase of new detergents packaged in bottles.
Empty cleaner bottles can be refilled with the "W5" cleaner refill tabs for glass, kitchen, bathroom or all-purpose cleaners. recycled and can easily be refilled with high-quality detergent at home. According to the company, the tabs will initially be available on a trial basis for one week at a price of €1.49 per pack of two.
More 100 per cent recycled PET
Lidl has also optimised the packaging of selected "W5" detergents. The bottle bodies of all-purpose, bathroom, WC, glass and multi-grease cleaners as well as rinse aids, fabric softeners and hand dishwashing detergents are made of Now made from 100 per cent recycled transparent PETThis has improved the recyclability of the bottles. The optimised detergent bottles bear the "responsibly packaged" logo. With this, Lidl is labelling successively improved and more sustainably designed product packaging for its own brands. With the introduction of the new refill tabs and the optimisation of the "W5" cleaner bottles, Lidl wants to contribute to the goals of the company's REset Plastic strategy.
