Positive mood at Empack Zurich

Around 200 companies from the Swiss packaging industry showcased their innovations in Zurich at EMPACK 2025 and the Logistics & Automation trade fair, which took place at the same time.

The Swiss packaging industry met in Zurich at EMPACK 2025. Over 4,000 visitors gathered information at the trade fair and the Logistics & Automation trade fair, which took place at the same time.

Around 200 exhibitors and partners were represented at both trade fairs this year. EMPACK presented a broad spectrum of companies from the Swiss packaging industry that Stimulus for the highly competitive sector give. The winners of the Swiss Packaging Awards 2024 from the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI and the Packaging Talks presentations were also a highlight: Topics such as Robot automation, artificial intelligence, sustainable packaging solutions and the importance of the circular economy in focus.

One of the exhibitors at EMPACK was Schelling AG, which presented innovative approaches in packaging technology and its new partnership with Noriware. The Swiss start-up has developed a transparent film made from algae, which is now being used as a viewing window in cardboard packaging in an initial project. Jessica Farda, CEO of Noriware, and Pierre Hertzel, Business Development Manager at Schelling, explained their partnership at the trade fair. Vision of packaging that unites nature and industry.

Two more exhibition halls from 2027

Both trade fairs focus on growth and innovation, emphasised Stefan Voegele, Head of Cluster at Easyfairs Switzerland: „With over 190 exhibitors, the trade fair an increase of around 12 per cent compared to 2023 and is therefore reaching the limits of its capacity in Halls 3 and 4. From 2027, we will therefore probably include Halls 1 and 2 to enable further growth for our exhibitors and association partners. The trade fairs will focus on digitalisation, artificial intelligence (AI) and personal networking Essential topics for the B2B industry."

Livio Marchioni, CEO of BVS Packaging Group AG, adds: „We were able to hold over 100 interesting discussions on the first day of the trade fair, with topics such as workplace optimisation, machines and equipment to increase efficiency in the packaging process and environmentally friendly packaging aids being the focus of interest. After a subdued year in 2024, we are once again seeing an increasing willingness to invest of the market participants. The two days were a complete success for us.“

The next edition of EMPACK will take place on 28 and 29 January 2026 at Bernexpo.
