With the integrated circuits of the Magellan MC58113 series, PMD offers a Powerful single-axis position, speed and torque control for various motor types. These ICs offer an optimum solution for almost all automated motion tasks where precision is particularly important. There are four ICs in the MC5x113 series, each of which is integrated into a single 100-pin TQFP housing and operated at 3.3 volts.
The MC51113 provides dedicated control for DC brushed motors, the MC53113 controls three-phase brushless DC motors, the MC54113 controls two-phase stepper motors, and the MC58113 (multi-motor version) can be programmed to control any of these motor types. The MC5x113 series ICs are complete single-axis motor controllers that only require an external bridge circuit or amplifier to be functional. They are connected to a host PC or processor via SPI, CANbus or RS232/485.
All Magellan Motion Control ICs support C-Motion, PMD's instruction set for initialising and controlling motion axes, monitoring performance and synchronising overall machine behaviour. C-Motion allows customers to develop their own application using C/C++ while working with Magellan ICs. PMD's Pro-Motion development software accelerates and simplifies the graphical representation, tuning and analysis of system performance.
