According to the German PrintCity Alliance, digital innovations, safety solutions, food safety and sustainability were the dominant themes at the „Packaging Innovations“ trade fair, which was held in Warsaw, Poland, at the beginning of April. In a recently published statement, the strategic alliance of companies from the printing and packaging industry was „very satisfied“ with its participation at the trade fair on a joint stand.
After a successful first appearance at what the organiser describes as one of the leading events in the Packaging industry trade fair in Eastern Europe, the PrintCity Alliance The Graficus/ Graficus Group once again took part in the eleventh edition of „Packaging Innovations“ this year. The companies Graficus/Epple Printing colours, IST Metz, Kama, PC Print/Leonhard Kurz, Metsä Board, Merck and Weilburger Graphics.

Successful seminar on „Nature“ cosmetics packaging
A premiere for the PrintCity Alliance was the organisation of its own seminar in the trade fair's Workshop Forum. In the one-hour presentation, the Cosmetics folding carton packaging „Nature“ in all its facets. The focus was on the design and the choice of materials as well as the Finishing and production. The seminar offered new opportunities to discuss innovations, environmental issues and the Polish market, Allianz summarised the course of the event format.

To the two-day „Packaging Innovations“ attracted almost 5,000 visitors this year, according to the organiser „Targi w Krakowie“. This good attendance figure underlines the continued importance of Face-to-face events, according to the trade fair organisers. The good response from visitors was also confirmed by the participating PrintCity Alliance companies: „The interest in our stand and our offerings was even greater than in previous years,“ summarised the organisers. Members showcased extensive product range
At the joint stand, the companies of the printing alliance provided information about their various offerings. Epple, for example, presented innovative packaging concepts with „BoFood Organic“. These are colours that can be used for direct Food contact are suitable. Epple also showed alternatives to cellophane wrapping for printed products and packaging.

Metsä Board, on the other hand, provided information primarily about its Fresh fibre cartons and the EcoBarrier-solutions. The TrustconceptSoftware for optical security features that Digital metal technology with the DM-Jetliner, a web-based software for Metal coatings and a hot foil stamp with nanoembossing were on show at the PC Print/Leonhard Kurz stand.
