This year, the Glass Packaging Action Forum is once again awarding the „Product Innovation in Glass” prize for special products packaged in glass. Food and beverage bottling companies can apply until the end of March 2019. Participation is free of charge.
The countdown has started: Interested companies from the food and beverage manufacturing and bottling industry have until the 31 March 2019 advertise. Products that stand out due to their unusual recipes, special glass packaging or sustainability aspects play just as much a role as those that have not yet been available in glass packaging. It must also be a product that was sold on the German market for the first time between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019. Several submissions per company are possible.

Companies wishing to apply must submit the completed application form, a product photo and two product samples. The documents, addresses and deadlines can be found at here can be called up.
Prizes in various categories
Companies with up to 50 employees can apply in the „Small Companies” category, while companies with more than 50 employees can apply in the „Medium and Large Companies” category. In addition, a company has the chance to receive the trophy in the form of a glass Möbius strip in the „Audience Favourite” category.
Announcement the Nominees and winners
An independent jury of experts will critically evaluate all submissions after the end of the application phase, nominate the three best participants in each of the categories „Small Companies” and „Medium and Large Companies” and then select the winners.
The jury is made up of experts from previous years: Brigitte Bähr, freelance journalist for packaging journal, Andrej Kupetz, Managing Director of the German Design Council, Dr Ulrich Nehring, Managing Director of Nehring Consultants GmbH, and Achim Nieroda, Technology Officer at the German Brewers' Association.
The nominees will then be presented on 17 September 2019 during the Glass trend day in Cologne's Flora, where the audience will also be able to vote for the winner of the third category „Audience Favourite“. The winners will be unveiled and honoured in the evening at a cosy get-together at Pe303 in Cologne.
