Expanded theme worlds and new formats
A revised hall concept created clear structures and new theme worlds that specifically highlighted innovations and future trends. Lab5 by ISM, which was positioned in Hall 10.1 for the first time, acted as an innovation hub and strengthened the close connection to ISM. In addition to the established programme, a new format was announced with ISM Ingredients, which will focus even more strongly on raw materials, ingredients and semi-finished products from 2026.
Mercosur trade agreement and global perspectives
At the start of the trade fair, a high-calibre panel discussed the effects of the Mercosur trade agreement on the confectionery industry. Among the experts was Rupert Schlegelmilch, EU chief negotiator of the agreement. The event offered insights into global supply chains and market opportunities for the industry.
Focus on digitalisation, AI and sustainability
ProSweets Cologne focused increasingly on topics such as artificial intelligence, digitalisation and sustainable production processes. The first ever Sweet Week Production Summit brought production teams together with suppliers and offered interactive sessions on best practices and future technologies. The Expert Stage, which highlighted topics such as rising raw material prices, the shortage of skilled labour and sustainable packaging solutions, also attracted particular attention.
Successful synergies with the ISM
As the world's only supplier fair for the confectionery and snack industry, ProSweets Cologne benefits from its close integration with ISM. The concept of the Sweet Week bundles the entire value chain - from raw materials and packaging to the end product. Through new interactive event formats such as the Sweet Week Talks & Tasting With presentations, start-up pitches and live tastings, the platform for networking and business contacts was further strengthened.
