The international supplier trade fair ProSweets Cologne will have a new name from 2027. By changing its name to ISM Manufacturing, Koelnmesse is reorganising its trade fair portfolio for the confectionery and snack industry and will bundle the entire value chain under the ISM brand in future.
Koelnmesse is reorganising its trade fair portfolio for the confectionery and snack industry: From 2027, the former ProSweets Cologne will operate under the name ISM Manufacturing. According to Koelnmesse, the rebranding is part of a strategic development aimed at standardising the international brand architecture in the food sector and at the same time strengthening the role of the supplier industry.
In future, the ISM brand umbrella will unite three closely interlinked trade fairs in Cologne: ISM, ISM Ingredients, which will be launched in 2026, and ISM Manufacturing. For the first time, the entire value chain of the confectionery and snack industry - from raw materials to production, technology and packaging to the finished product - will be represented in an integrated trade fair constellation.
Reaction to changing market requirements
According to Koelnmesse, the background to the reorganisation is the increasing networking and complexity within the confectionery and snack industry. Production processes, packaging technologies and raw material topics are becoming increasingly intertwined. With the new brand architecture, the supplier industry will be more closely linked to ISM and positioned as an integral part of the global industry.
From 2027, joint digital services will also be available, including a central website, a joint ticket shop, a trade fair app and standardised networking and communication platforms. The aim is to improve planning, exchange and visibility for all participants and to promote professional and business dialogue along the entire value chain.
Content remains, integration grows
In terms of content, ISM Manufacturing follows on from the previous ProSweets Cologne. Since 2006, the trade fair has established itself as an independent platform for suppliers, machine manufacturers and providers of packaging and production technologies. This role is to be continued and further expanded under the new name. The four thematic areas Packaging Materials, Packaging Technology, Production Technology and Operating Equipment & Auxiliary Devices will remain. In future, however, they will be more strongly embedded in ISM's overall portfolio.
