Ranpak takes over the Dutch manufacturer of environmentally friendly cool packs, Recycold Cool Solutions, and can now offer total solutions consisting of paper-based thermal protective packaging and sustainable cool packs from a single source.
Ranpak is expanding its portfolio of packaging solutions for the cold chain with this acquisition. In contrast to conventional cold packs, the Recycled Cool Packs made from a leak-proof, plant-based gel are environmentally friendly, recyclable and suitable for passive cooling over the last mile of distribution.

Ranpak offers integrated cold chain solution
The provider of paper-based packaging solutions for e-commerce, headquartered in Ohio/USA, has already been active in the cold chain sector for several years with its WrapPak Protector thermal protection film. The Paper pads trap the air and prevent heat conduction, which makes it a good insulator for cold chain applications. To keep products cool for up to 48 hours Ranpak is now focussing on the use of Recycold Cool Packs. This is currently the most sustainable option on the market to fulfil this requirement, they say.
Ranpak and Recycold customers can now order the entire solution from a single source and benefit from the Easy integration into existing packaging processesThe packers simply place the WrapPak paper pads in the carton and add the Recycold cool packs.
