When filling cosmetics, hazardous materials such as solvents containing alcohol are also handled. In order to fulfil the associated safety requirements, cosmetics manufacturer Mann & Schröder had a filling system installed by Rationator Maschinenbau.
Face masks with press caps, nail varnish remover in screw-top bottles or sun sprays with a spray pump and overcap: at cosmetics manufacturer Mann & Schröder Cosmetics, care products, some of which vary greatly in consistency, are filled and sealed in appropriate containers. The systems used for this must dose precisely despite short-term media changes and varying filling volumes. In addition, the caps must not be fitted too tightly or too loosely to prevent leakage or damage to the container. This is why the cosmetics company has relied on the filling and capping systems from Rationator Maschinenbau GmbH for many years.
The latest filling system, which was installed as part of a production expansion, is a Robomat autoCIP 2/12-1000 series machine with customised equipment features. It has been equipped with explosion protection so that flammable liquids containing alcohol, such as solvents, can be processed safely. In addition, product components can be filled in two phases with the same or different volumes. The Ratilight Puck System ensures that the containers stand securely on the conveyor belt. Capping is carried out automatically by two Robocap and Robocap DP torque capping machines. This prevents the packaging from leaking and allows two different closures to be applied to a container one after the other at the same time.
