Over 70 participants attended this year's general meeting of Packaging Valley Germany e. V., which was held at Rommelag in Sulzbach-Laufen. The event not only provided an opportunity to discuss current developments in the packaging machinery industry, but also provided strategic impetus for the current year. The focus was on topics such as digitalisation, sustainability, promoting young talent and the further expansion of the network.
The cluster welcomed nine new member companies in the first quarter of 2025 - including Bosch Rexroth, Hugo Beck, IWK Verpackungstechnik and other technology and system providers. The network now has 113 member companies - a clear sign of the growing relevance of Packaging Valley as a central platform in the packaging machinery industry.
The Board of Directors also presented ambitious goals for 2025: these include intensifying cooperation within the industry, targeted marketing, promoting young talent and stronger networking with scientific organisations and public institutions.
Focus on events
The 2025 agenda is well filled: Upcoming formats include the new „C-Level Meet n Talk“ event, a Sustainability Day in July, Fachpack in September, the Packaging Valley Makeathon in October and the Packaging Machinery Day in November. They are intended to further promote exchange, knowledge transfer and innovation impulses within the network.
Insight at Rommelag: Digitalisation and efficiency in mechanical engineering
Host Rommelag gave a presentation of CEO Ralf Bouffleur presented a preview of the latest generation of its Bottelpack blow-fill-seal systems. The machines are characterised by reduced dimensions, optimised hygienic design and significant energy and resource savings. A particular focus was on digital services such as the cloud-based Rommelag Pharma Platform (RPP), which acts as a central interface for users.
Networking takes centre stage
The event was rounded off by a networking evening with a company tour. Participants were able to visit the production facility and discuss current industry topics.
„The great interest in the members“ meeting and the lively networking afterwards show the relevance and cohesion of our network. Once again, it became clear how important Packaging Valley is as a platform for the packaging machinery industry community."
