Polyrec is now recognised as an official data collector for the Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA). The association, which monitors the European plastics recycling market, uses the Recotrace data system to document the progress of the entire European plastics value chain towards the CPA target of 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics by 2025.
Polyrec is therefore calling on all plastics recyclers and processors to Register data on recycled plastics in Recotrace and thus ensure the transparency of the cycle for European plastics.
„Understanding the size and dynamics of the European market for recycled plastics will help shape future legislation and investment decisions to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.“
Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe

Recotrace is the first comprehensive data system that monitors both plastic recycling volumes and the use of recycled plastic for all major plastics. The tool offers recyclers and processors a free online platform, which they can use to document their own progress in the production or use of recycled materials and thus demonstrate their commitment to the circular economy.
The Polyrec-members have jointly ensured that all definitions and methods used in Recotrace are harmonised. This ensures the comparability of all data collected here.
