Since the start of mandatory reusability in the catering industry, Recup has connected 3,800 more partners to its network. There are now 20,000 outlets participating in the reusable system. Compared to the previous year, Recup has doubled its presence on the market.
The German reusable system Recup/Rebowl has the 20,000th issuing centre connected. The company anticipates continued strong growth as a result of the mandatory reusable packaging that has been in force since 1 January 2023.
„We are proud and grateful for the connection of our 20,000th dispensing point and our constantly growing reusable network. We have been able to expand our reusable network by 100% since last year and can see that the system works easily and comprehensively. This milestone gives us a tailwind for our mission: to make single-use packaging completely superfluous.“

Since 1 January 2023 alone, more than 3,800 new partners have joined the reusable network. For example Burger King, Jet petrol stations, Galeria Kaufhof, Tank & Rast, Espresso House or Breuninger. Major partners such as IKEA, Alnatura, Denns Bio Markt and XXL Lutz have been involved for some time.
At all 20,000 partners, customers can borrow food and/or drinks in the Rebowl reusable bowl or Recup reusable cup for a deposit and return it to one of the outlets to get the deposit back. In this way Recup can save up to 1,000 disposable cups and up to 500 disposable trays with a rebowl.
