In cooperation with the DIHK, the Federal Environment Ministry, the WWF and numerous partners from research and consultancy, the 16th DNP company prize awarded in 100 sectors for the first time. In each sector, artificial intelligence was first used to research around 50 companies in publicly available data such as sustainability reports, rankings and websites.
Their sustainability profiles, which are based on the EU's CSRD, were subjected to scoring. Expert juries for each sector - totalling around 150 experts from research, consulting, associations and civil society - selected the finalists and winners in a nomination round and a decision-making round from: Companies that demonstrate effective and exemplary contributions to transformation in their sector, that have become - or should become - „beacons“ of their sectors.
Winner in the packaging sector
The jurors of the DNP for companies have proved to be companies that they believe are leading the sustainable transformation in their industries this year. Their decisions recognisably reflect the breadth and depth of the transformation: with very different challenges, company sizes and contexts. The Recup GmbH made it through to the final because the company made particularly effective, exemplary contributions to the transformation, thereby becoming a role model and sending the right signals to its industry. and beyond.
The waste disposal and recycling sector is certainly also relevant for the packaging industry. Here the interzero Holding GmbH was honoured with an award. According to the expert jury, the company is one of the pioneers of the urgently needed sustainable transformation, pioneers of a future-proof circular economy. Closing cycles makes a significant contribution to conserving resources and reducing climate-damaging emissions. We need a consistent, holistic circular economy in order to maintain the quality of life on our planet.
„The award confirms that we are on the right track: Together with customers and partners, we want to realise a genuine, sustainable circular economy - and thus counteract the overloading of our planet more and more effectively.“
