World première: Inariz says it is launching the first heat-resistant, recyclable stand-up pouch made from mono-material for ready-to-eat rice.
The company, based in Brittany, is launching a monomaterial on the market that Recyclable and suitable for retort applications and has all the mechanical properties of a conventional stand-up pouch.
Recyclable stand-up pouch as a joint development
The new packaging technology has been developed by UK sister company FEI Foods, a processor of stand-up pouches for ready-to-eat rice and cereals in Europe, in close collaboration with J M Packaging, a leading supplier of customised flexible packaging to the UK food industry. The new solution offers retailers and consumers a product that is food-safe and recyclable - where current regional recycling frameworks allow.

With sustainability and environmental aspects in mind, as well as a great deal of interest in this product from the industry, FEI and JMP focussed on the development of a recyclable mono-material bag. The size, shape and function of the stand-up pouch as well as the properties required by customers, such as food safety, simple Handling and convenience have remained the same.
