The organic cosmetics label Hands on Veggies has developed a new, environmentally friendly refill system. It is made from recycled plastic waste fished out of the oceans. With the purchase of each bottle, you support Ocean & Beach Clean ups.
According to forecasts, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. This forecast was made by the Austrian organic cosmetics label Hands on Veggies the occasion to a new, environmentally friendly refill system from Ocean Plastic to create.
300 million tonnes of plastic are produced every year. Around 10 million tonnes of this ends up as waste in the oceans. The Refill System's dispenser bottle is made from precisely this plastic waste, which is fished out of the oceans and collected from beaches and harbours. In this way, the purchase of every bottle supports Ocean & Beach Clean ups. The plastic waste is recycled back into plastic granulate and processed into the pretty and practical bottles.
"Our refill system is a small contribution to counteracting the flood of plastic in the oceans and on beaches and turning this waste back into a valuable raw material and a practical product. In times of scarce resources, this is a raw material that we will unfortunately not run out of any time soon. In the spirit of the circular economy, we want to show what is possible with it."
