Reo, the digital platform for sustainable packaging solutions in the personal care sector, is now trialling the return of packaging from cosmetics and personal care manufacturers lavera Naturkosmetik, Kneipp and Logocos Naturkosmetik together with Kaufland and VollCorner Biomarkt.
The process is very simple for customers: from now on, they can return their empty care packaging directly when shopping at the deposit machines in ten Kaufland shops and three VollCorner stores in the Munich region - and receive 29 cents per package. The product packaging is labelled accordingly on the shelf and on the packaging itself. This makes it easier to return empty cosmetics packaging. just as easy as dispensing drinks bottles.
At the kick-off, the partners presented the project together with the Zero Waste Innovation Hub of the City of Munich officially at the start of the test phase - and show what an innovative solution for the sustainable use of resources can look like.

„Conscious consumption doesn't have to be an extra mile. When sustainable solutions are seamlessly integrated into everyday life, real change becomes possible - for brands, retailers and consumers alike.“
Steffanie Rainer, CEO of Reo
The joint project shows, How retailers, brands and consumers can work together, to create ecologically sensible and economically viable solutions. Reo intends to use the findings from the test phase to further develop the model. All participating packaging and return locations can be found at http://www.reo-reuse.de retrievable.
